(Here are some of the game concepts that I've taken as far as writing up full design documents for)
2d shooter concept: Taking a cue from titles like Metroid this title is an action adventure game in which players control a ship and explore a planet still recovering from a war. The ship can be customized with numerous weapons, defenses and other items to give the player a custom load out. The player will find crew members that can either be used back at base to research new items or onboard the ship providing unique benefits.
Frankenstein the board game: This title is based on the book of the same name, a two player game where one player is Frankenstein and the other is the monster. The player who controls Frankenstein at the start will pick and choose parts to make up the monster, the better the part the more points Frankenstein will earn but will give the monster a greater advantage. Once the game begins Frankenstein must stop the monster from completing tasks that will ruin Frankenstein’s life, each one will decrease the amount of points Frankenstein will earn at the end of the round. Once the monster either flees the continent or is killed by Frankenstein the points are calculated and the players switch.
Action game concept: This title comes from my love of action titles like God Hand and Ninja Gaiden. A “thinking man’s beatemup” where the player will design their own combos and move set to assign to the character’s limbs. An expert player will be able to take on multiple enemies at the same time using a variety of defensive and offensive moves. With regenerating health there will be no need to limit the fighting and the difficulty levels will be balanced towards various skill levels.
3rd Person horror concept: This title is what I call a Lord of the Flies situation; the player is stuck in a ruined city among other survivors after a horrible disaster. The player must find a way to set up shelter and trust the other people while trying to find a way out. Besides dealing with the other people the player must deal with mutated creatures lead by a monstrous creature who wants to convert the remaining humans into its disciples. A unique health and damage system will give the player the feelings of both a badass and a weakling at the same time. With a realistic damage model the player is always one head shot away from death both from the creatures and their own teammates.
Ant Colony: A 2d puzzle platformer where the player controls a colony of ants with the goal of collecting enough food before winter comes. The ants can work together to create ladders and bridges. The better the player does on a level the more levels they will unlock.
Platform Construction Kit: A sandbox tool/game allowing players to create their own platformers. Tweak characters, items and the environment to create unique levels that can be shared with people around the world.
“Sword” Concept: Will help from the Wii Motionplus this title is a first person sword fighting game set in the medieval world, the player will pick up a variety of weapons to fight their way through enemy castles.
Squad Based Strategy concept: Drawing inspiration from X-Com this title has the player forming an organization of men and cyborgs to explore the remains of Earth after a catastrophe. The player will manage from an orbiting space station where they can use spoils from combat to create new weapons. Dealing with the various groups on the station will give the player access to unique upgrades and equipment.
